Current merchant materials list a dual-strain L. plantarum complex, L. salivarius and L. rhamnosus. For evidence purposes, species names alone are not enough; strain identity, preparation and dose can materially change relevance.
L. plantarum complex
Used in the product's microbiome/postbiotic positioning. The exact strain pair and preparation should be checked against the current label.
L. salivarius
Some oral-health research has evaluated specific L. salivarius strains. Results from one strain should not automatically be generalized to every preparation.
L. rhamnosus
L. rhamnosus has a broad research history, but oral-health relevance remains strain-, dose- and endpoint-specific.
